Giving Back to Our Communities

"The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members."

Coretta Scott King

Communities are formed in many different ways: geography, ideas, faith, life stage, background, experience and more. Caring for and contributing to our communities bolsters our individual sense of well-being and belonging while fostering growth, connection and strength across the greater community.

This is a great time of year to connect with our communities through giving. Here are some organizations to consider donating your time and attention.

Christmas Family Adoption Foundation

This nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization serves the Portland, Salem, and Vancouver metro areas. Partnering with recognized agencies and caseworkers, CFAF connects families in the area with “Adopting Angels” who provide the means to make Christmas a time of real celebration for these families. They also accept one time donations too!

Ronald McDonald House & Charities of Oregon & SW Washington

Providing access to medical care, a home away from home, and a community of support for seriously ill or injured children and their families.

Clackamas Service Center

CSC is an inclusive "one-stop" community center for individuals and families seeking food relief and resources for improved health, dignity, and stability.

Neighborhood House

Neighborhood House is focused on assisting the community where it is needed. Founded over 100 years ago, its mission started as primarily helping refugees and newly immigrated immigrants. Not only is that still a part of our mission, but we also cater to the needs of the SW Portland community. We offer five programs including a Food Pantry, Low-Income Housing Facility, Senior Center, an Early Head Start Program, and a Youth Services Program.

Rose Haven

Rose Haven is the only day shelter and community center specifically serving women, children, and gender-diverse people in Portland. As night shelters are at capacity, their  low-barrier drop-in model bridges the gaps in services. For many, they are the first step in asking for help and starting to heal.

Snowcap Community Charities

Open Hearts. Open Hands. SnowCap Community Charities is a philanthropic organization created to provide food, clothing, advocacy and other services to our neighbors in need.

Blanchet House of Hospitality

Blanchet House serves anyone who comes to our doors without judgment. They believe everyone deserves food, clothes, community, and hope. Blanchet House is on a mission to alleviate suffering and offer hope for a better life by serving essential aid with dignity.
